NICOLAS PÉGON

Born in Lyon in 1984, Nicolas Pégon lives and works in Saint-Étienne. In 2007, he obtained his DNAT in Textile Design from the École Nationale des Beaux Arts in Lyon.

Images, representations and affiliations collide in Nicolas Pégon’s work. His drawings are developed through a subconscious logic of massive inductions. They are part of a heterogeneous sublimation, on the fringes of the iconic. An unorthodox emotion in which luminous gradations exalt an inexpressible feeling, both volcanic and diffuse. A collage of sufficient elements, of heterogeneous motifs overlapping in their mutual alterations, their autarkic preciosities, their lacunar deficiencies. A play of the mind with raw sensuality, mimetic figuration and scrupulous craftsmanship.
