“Mireille.ia” project | Enova
In 2022, I meet Aymeric Portal. He was looking for a gallery to exhibit AI-generated works. The idea appeals to me… He trusts my expertise.
Not that I’m a fan of data exchange and other artificial intelligences, but I’m rather curious to discover this field of experimentation. Let’s be clear: for the past 10 years, I’ve been a staunch defender of some 20 virtuoso artists, whose work is both graceful and valiant, and I have no desire whatsoever for contemporary creation to be overtaken by machines. AI raises dizzying ethical questions. So we need to encourage innovation, while ensuring that human beings can continue to exist and create. Enriching without impoverishing creators will be tomorrow’s challenge.
The “Mireille” system is powered by an image-generating AI. This software, trained by existing content stored in huge databases, “learns” to produce new images by associating different emotions collected on social networks, according to the requests of “Mireille” developers. They include humor, beauty or ugliness, but they don’t leave anyone indifferent. (Valérie Eymeric)
