Low season | Komili
From 13 october to 10 november 2018
By crossing distances, volumes and colors, the gaze finds, in the thickness and concreteness of concrete and bark, the muted vibration of permanence that lies beneath the indifferent use of things. This is what Komili brings out in his paintings: what lies beneath the fleetingness of the individual gaze, beyond the semi-consciousness of being, beyond the here and now of our passing. His canvases are not anecdotes about places that no one takes notice of; they are revelations of what we might well be, rather, anecdotes in places that keep us and extend further than ourselves. Points, lines, perspectives that move and wander for a moment in space, leaving the geometric trace of their trajectories. (Blondine Desbiolles)
