Cabinet of curiosities #2 | Life’s inherent impermanence
Hannaka | Albane Hupin | Emmanuelle Leblanc | Capucine Vandebrouck
It is with this title, a reference to Agnès Martin’s ‘the perfection inherent in life’, that the second session of Valérie Eymeric’s Cabinet de curiosités opens. Through the works of four French artists, this intimate new exhibition explores different aspects of life’s inherent impermanence in different ways. Capucine Vandebrouck’s fleeting, fragile transfers of images onto plasterboard, Albane Hupin’s traces of the passage of time in her mouldy papers and macerated tablets, Hannaka’s photographic captures of the memory of time, and Emmanuelle Leblanc’s vibrant, moving oil paintings – all these forms illustrate the very essence of our human condition, the impermanence inherent in life.
