Cabinet of curiosities #13 | The erosion of the visible
Curator | Guénaëlle de Carbonnières
Guénaëlle de Carbonnières | Flora Fanzutti | Mélanie Faucher | Jeanne Held | Yoan Lafragette
Valérie Eymeric’s Cabinet of Curiosities opens up to a convergence of murmurs and transformations, through the works of five artists: Guénaëlle de Carbonnières, Flora Fanzutti, Mélanie Faucher, Jeanne Held and Yoan Lafragette invite us to take a sensory plunge into the heart of matter, in a poetic archaeology. By immersing themselves in the very essence of their medium, pushing it to its limits, inviting it to recount its own transmutations, each plays with its porosity to produce infinite expanses: those worn by our bodies and our memories, woven by our imaginations, sculpted by the earth, breathed by the city. Uses and metamorphoses become a way of probing fragments of worlds, intimate or shared, imaginary or actual. Erosion is no longer a simple alteration, but an active principle that shapes silver salts and oxides as well as the atoms that make up copper and glass (Guénaëlle de Carbonnières).
