Wetting the paper and impregnating it with Indian ink using a glass stylus, Alain Boulerot draws clear lines, the ink spreading uncontrollably well beyond its initial line to take on fascinating shapes and random meanders before settling permanently as it dries, a few minutes later. The artist is having fun, playing with this extremely short lapse of execution time when we are graphically forced to go to the essential, to confront the rigour of a clear line with the randomness of a medium that will react, warp and curl despite its weight. Drawing on the exploration of human desire, this exhibition blends art, sensuality and eroticism.
