JULIE GADE
PainterBorn in 1980 in Herning, Denmark, Julie Gade first studied digital art at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia, then digital design and communication at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. She then worked as a UX designer until 2023, before taking up a completely different art form: painting. Deeply inspired by the natural world around her, she is an up-and-coming artist with a growing number of projects, including her first exhibition outside Denmark at Galerie Valérie Eymeric in France.
The artist’s work is deeply inspired by the nature and wildlife of Denmark, particularly Copenhagen, where she lives. In her broad strokes and wild explosions of colour, realistic insects and birds lurk, merging with the paint. A beetle crawls across a line, while a finch rests on a branch above, just as animals often merge and hide with the nature around them.
