Effroyables jardins | Ghazale Bahiraie by Martine Pullara

Not to be missed at La Galerie Valérie Eymeric is Iranian artist Ghazale Bahiraie, whose work is marked by her involvement in the Iranian green movement, and who has been in exile in Lyon since 2016. Through her embroidery, she expresses the pain of her exile, her opposition to the government and her support for women who have been sacrificed. Her paintings are beautiful, but only in appearance! With each of her threads, she weaves deep stories that she remembers, lives that shatter, explosions of colour (red symbolises the blood of martyrs) that go all the way to sublime, violent black, leaving nothing left to glimpse.
