LYON CAPITALE
In front of the landscape | Komili par Martine Pullara
Originally from Greece and based in Isère, Komili is exhibiting her highly original work Face au paysage at the Valérie-Eymeric gallery. It illustrates her fascination with places in the making or abandoned (urban projects, quarries, etc.), which she perceives as landscapes that look out on us, and which she paints, after photographing them, with a colour palette that plays on light and shadow, the contrast between rural and urban, and also reveals the interweaving of the organic, the mineral and the vegetal. Strange or luminous landscapes emerge, without us really knowing whether it’s the vegetation invading the site or, conversely, the habitat blending into nature. We love the yellow and orange tones, the brick red, ochre and white of these unoccupied places, as well as the blue and green gradations of the vegetation, inviting us to question and contemplate (until 28 June).
