Painting surface | Alain Chevrette
What better way to get away from it all than in a garden, where you can walk barefoot in the grass, admire the delicate flowers, smell their fragrance, pick up a good book and enjoy an aromatic drink in complicity with nature? This summer, I invite you to join me on this “close” journey, thanks to the work of 5 contemporary artists. In their secret gardens, they create, sow and share. The “Jardins” exhibition will be a mix of singularities, a surprising and serene interlude in the heart of Lyon. A mix of the gallery’s artists and two guests. Singular, because they have all worked on new works.
The artist uses a broad palette of colours. Reds, pinks, oranges and even a superb mauve make appearances. Dark colours rub shoulders with lighter ones in a measured, organised anarchy. Harmony, gentleness and balance emerge from this ferment, as if Alain Chevrette had decided, on the scale of a very fine career, to breathe order into the chaos of today’s world. For our exhibition, he will surprise us with a return to figuration. (Joël Couve)
