Through this disappearance of painting and images, and as a result of pollution, climate change and the destruction of the environment, his work represents the erasure of the capitalist system, consumer society and our civilisation in all its dimensions. It marks the end of a world, the end of history, particularly the end of modernism and post-modernism, and the terminal, chaotic phase of an exhausted, worn-out and tested imagination.
